Welcome to my website, I'm Jay Vulture, a professional fine art photographer and tutor based in Central London, I specialise in black and white fine art photography. I organise and run photography workshops in London, Iceland, Venice, Berlin, Lisbon and Valencia, where I teach all aspects of  black and white photography, this includes the use of neutral density filters and grads for long exposure photography, the fundamentals of composition for architectural, square format, landscape and cityscape photography, and finally but most importantly my complete black and white post processing workflow for fine art photography using Photoshop CC, Lightroom Classic and Nik Silver Efex Pro. During the workshop I supply all my students with my finished Photoshop files and a step by step written guide of my post processing workflow. I also offer one to one photography and Photoshop tuition at a time to suit you, please get in touch if you need more information.

 

My style of photography and portfolio ranges from fine art architecture, fine art street photography, atmospheric landscapes and minimalist square format fine art. Compositions are bold and striking, I use long exposure photography to create surreal and haunting images, I like to work in low light and use low key processing.

My black and white long exposure photography workshops are specifically designed to give you the skill and knowledge to take your long exposure black and white photography and the images you produce to a professional standard, to make images you are truly proud of. My black and white post processing workflow requires a basic knowledge of Photoshop and Lightroom, learn my distinctive and recognisable style of black and white post processing and composition. Im very passionate about beautiful black and white photography and love to teach and share my knowledge I have gained from shooting long exposure photography and editing my published images over many years.

Im a featured artist with Formatt Hitech, my work has been published and featured by TimeOut magazine London, I was listed in the top 50 photographers on 500px by Fstoppers, I recently had a gallery exhibition with The Brick Lane Gallery Shoreditch. I have been featured on The Flickr Blog, had Editors Choice on 500px and have multiple images curated on 1x. Im a Getty Images artist.

My camera and lens setup comprises of a Nikon D800E, Pentax 645z,  Sony A7r, Nikon14-24mm,  Zeiss 21mm, Zeiss 35mm, Zeiss Otus 55mm, Zeiss 135mm. My filters are Formatt Hitech Firecrest 16 stop, 13 stop, 10 stop and grads. I use a Gitzo systematic tripod and a Kirk BH-1 ball head.
